Happy Independence Day

Dear Sanket,

The midnight of August 15, 1947 is memorable for every Indian within the country or an NRI, as it is the time, when India gained independence. Since 1947, it is celebrated with pomp and peacefully, across the length and breadth of India.

In all the schools and colleges across India, no academic work is done on Independence Day, but all the students and staff members would be present to celebrate the day. A sort of social gathering is arranged in the educations institutions, wherein cultural programs are organized. A majority of prominent business houses in India have the same routine as the educational institutions, while the  rest spend their time on watching Independence day special LIVE from Red Fort.

Contradicting to the traditional Independence day celebration, Generation Y is busy celebrating the same on e-world. The contemporary celebration for Indians happens via web 2.0.  The networking element among the young Indians has played a major role in 63rd Independence Day, as people have gathered online to celebrate the festival with fervor, discuss and debate the progress since the day and the way forward. Alternatively, the networking has also led many business groups to arrange for a small gathering in India's cities and abroad.

We at JMD Computer India wish all our Indian members a “Happy Independence Day”.
